Our international engagement

International engagement is extensive and diverse as our marine researchers collaborate with more than 200 universities, institutes and policy organisations.

Increased scientific and societal impact and visibility of marine activities at the University of Gothenburg are some of the benefits that come from international work. Read more about our marine researcher's opinions about internationalisation.

Agenda 2030

Internationalisation is particularly important when it comes to the global scope of marine issues, which often requires solutions across borders. The challenges addressed in the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG:s), specifically Goal 14 is of global concern and requires cooperation among stakeholders world-wide. Centre for Sea & Society has a special focus on the SDG:s.

Through the Centre for Sea and Society, The University of Gothenburg offers a complete environment for marine research, education and cooperation with access to unique marine infrastructures such as research vessels and the field stations at Tjärnö and Kristineberg.

Our goal is to be an attractive partner for marine researchers and students from different disciplines all over the world. Read more about our new master courses in Sea & Society open for international students.
