Centre for Sea and Society is built on cooperation. To describe the way we cooperate we have divided our activities into five different areas; research, industry, education, authorities and society. Below are some examples of current activities within the five areas.

Sea and Society harbours transdiciplinary marine projects, for example Aquaculture Centre WestCentre for Marine Chemical Ecology and SWEMARC.

Through the Maritime Cluster of West Sweden the centre cooperates with different marine/maritime industry for example, marine tourism, biotechnology and food industry.

Sea and Society runs a graduate school in marine environmental science that holds seven transdiciplinary PhD projects. In each project two PhD students focus on the same research topic but from different perspectives, for example ecologic/legal aspects of restoration of marine habitats.

Sea and Society cooperates with the Swedish institute for the Marine Environment in its mission to make science useful in policymaking.

Sea and Society will become the entry point to all marine and maritime activities within the University of Gothenburg and be the front to the public.
